What if women ruled the world

Craft a typographic response that might reimagine manifestos, constitutions, signage, propaganda, or data visualisations that rewrite how leadership and authority are expressed. Alternatively, you might explore the language of resistance, activism, and transformation through feminist history, myth, and protest.

Your submission should engage critically and creatively with both feminist ideas and typographic expression, asking not only what the message is but how it speaks.

SUBMISSION GUIDANCE/REQUIREMENTS:
Your submission should include sufficient appropriate material to show that you have addressed the brief comprehensively and clearly expressed your design and typographic skills. It must include:
• Strategy
• Research
• Design development
• Specifications/Grid(s)
• Final outcomes.
Your Strategy and Specifications should be submitted in a single document that will be assessed not only for its design, but will also incorporate the required minimum 500 words that should reflect your ability to handle text matter and information hierarchy
Research into matter
I looked into different cultures that have women actually in charge successfully:
Mosuo in China (The kingdom of women)
- Women are treated either equally or as superior to men. Women are the heads of the household and make all the important family decisions. All wealth and property are handed down between women only.
Bribri in Costa Rica
- Women hold all the power, are the landowners and are in charge of passing down traditions.
Minangkabau in Indonesia
- Women hold all central authority. 'Mother-right' system where women are the guardians of their household. Men move into the wives home once married and the women are the pillar of that house.

History of feminism
19th to early 20th century: Legal rights, women's suffrage (the right to vote) and property rights.

1960s to 1980s: Workplace inequality, sexuality, family, and reproductive rights.

1990s to 2000s: Individuality, diversity, how race, gender and class intersect.

2000s to present day: Sexual harassment, body shaming, rape culture. A powerful focus on inclusivity and fighting the patriarchy.

Ideas on what to do:
Focus on the cultural side.
The Mosuo people or 'The Kingdom of Women'.

Create a type-focused booklet on 'The Kingdom of Women'. Look into binding books. Women's text is strict and bold, stays in the same place, about their culture, etc.
Men's text is smaller, lighter font describing out their small things they do to contribute, changes on each page (walks across page).
Inside section when opened up is the details on 'The flower room'. Describing the details of the more personal stuff from their culture.
