HOTFOOT
Hotfoot came into our university and gave us a choice of four separate briefs to challenge ourselves with as we approach the end of this semester.
I read through each brief to see which one I thought connected to me as an artist and highlighted key areas to focus on.
Deadline: 13th December 4pm

Research:
For research, I went straight to Pinterest and looked at different hot sauce designs for packaging to get a feel for this project.
I also wanted to showcase some designs that I found visually interesting
I then had a look at some dessert packaging designs that I liked.

Looking for a name:
|
I talked to many people about which one they thought I should use, and 'Hot to go!" was a very popular option which I also really liked the idea of.
I may look at other, similar names to, "Hot to Go!"perhaps trying other song title names and how they could be used. I think it would be unique and eye-catching to include them in the flavour names of the hot sauces. |
I decided to create a few colour palettes based on the album/EP/single covers from Chappell Roan's music as her song titles have inspired my ideas for this product, With 'Hot to Go!', being the name for the collection of Hot Sauces.
Hot Sauce Flavours: Names & Icons:
I have given each flavour a name related to Chappell Roan's song names. We have Pink Pineapple Club, Casual Cranberry, Femininomen-orange, Bitter Lemon, and My kink is Key Lime.
I tried some AI imaging for inspiration in the style of each song choice for each fruity flavour:

Development work
I first tried to make a small mascot called Kelvin.
It's safe to say it wasn't executed very well...
I moved on to a more plausible idea: TYPOGRAPHY!
I created a tiny little skull design and tried adding different items to it to show off each song, which made everything look too much and overwhelming. So, I stuck to the original skull on its own
